Changes in Free Overnight Parking Regulations in Pasadena

Starting from December 23rd, the City of Pasadena will no longer enforce restrictions on free overnight parking. If you are unable to locate an exempt parking spot, you have the option to obtain a complimentary overnight parking permit.

Pasadena Free Overnight Parking

No Parking Sign

Pasadena has specific parking regulations that prohibit overnight street parking between 2 am and 6 am. This restriction is primarily implemented to generate revenue through ticketing, which can be frustrating.

To help you find free overnight parking options, I discovered a map of Pasadena highlighting streets without these restrictions. Any street marked with a red line on the map should allow you to park overnight.

Before parking, double-check for a small white sign on the street in case there have been any recent changes to the map.

If you’re staying at the Sheraton or Hilton in Pasadena, there is also free overnight parking available nearby, saving you approximately $20 per night. It’s definitely worth the effort to find a free space.

Keep in mind that some streets may have daytime restrictions, such as two-hour parking between 9 am and 6 pm. Therefore, you’ll need to move your car before 11 am.

If you cannot find an exempt space, you have the option to purchase a temporary overnight parking permit, which costs only $3. It is more cost-effective than parking at a hotel or a lot. You can conveniently buy and print the permit online instead of searching for a kiosk.

PARKING PERMITS IN PASADENA

From December 23rd to January 3rd, the overnight parking restriction in Pasadena will be lifted. However, it will resume on January 4th. During this time, all other parking rules and restrictions will still be enforced.
